Margot and Alex have been enjoying a well deserved vacation in France and Belgium. Whilst they are gone Dan and I have been responsible for the care and feeding of the goats and chickens at Consider Bardwell Farm. In addition to this, we are also baby sitting their little darlings, Stella, Wendy and one eyed William. For the most part, the trio has settled in nicely with Paul, Darby and Pipkin.
However.....
Merdus, the CBF barn cat, engages Dan in a stand off every morning, refusing to allow him passage. Dan resorts to trying to lasso him with a length of black hose in an attempt to tame the wild kitty! |
These old biddies complain loudly until their morning corn is served. |
As soon as they realize that their feet actually have to touch the ground in order to scratch for corn, one by one they emerge from their coop and stand around in little cliques, gossiping and whispering. |
Meanwhile, back in France, Margot and Alex have been sampling the local cuisine..... |
And staying in lovely little establishments like this manor in the south of France. It's a good thing they will be home on Thursday. I don't think William can last much longer in that crock. |
